Purpose
CEEW seeks to hire a research intern for the circular economy programme within the Energy Transitions team. This role involves compiling data, providing administrative support, and coordinating communication with key stakeholders to facilitate the successful execution of the Innovation Challenge for Circularity in Renewable Energy Technologies - Batteries and Solar Photovoltaic, initiated by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. The role provides opportunities to interact with entities working on development of circular technologies in the solar and battery industry as well as policymakers, and will appeal to those interested in building data and public policy skills.
Job Duties and Accountabilities:
Research
- Assist in data compiling of information related to registered applicants, administrative support and communication with relevant stakeholders. This includes
- Data compiling which includes data collection, organisation, preparation, validation and management. It involves maintaining records of applicants and progress made during the course of the challenge.
- Reliable and effective communication with winners of the innovation challenge to track their technical progress. This could involve creating and managing multiple databases.
- Assist in other research activities and projects of the circular economy programme. This includes
- Conducting research on new topics in circular economy of renewable energy technologies
- Compiling information on new and ongoing research that is easy to understand and disseminate via Word documents and presentations
Programme Assistance
- Assist with project implementation, including help with preparing presentations, spreadsheets, and other communication material.
- Support efforts to use new media platforms for wider dissemination of CEEW's work and, in turn, closer engagement with the key stakeholders.

Purpose
The Consultant will support the design, execution, and communication of evidence-based interventions to reduce industrial air pollution, particularly from Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and large point sources. The position is critical to advancing the programme's objectives of developing India- specific industrial emission factors, supporting the implementation of market-based instruments such as Emissions Trading Schemes (ETS), and enhancing industrial compliance mechanisms, including Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS). The analyst will also engage directly with the MSME sector to identify and assess viable pathways for emissions reduction and energy efficiency improvements, including cleaner fuel adoption, improved process technologies, and decentralised solutions. The role involves technical assessments, data analysis, stakeholder consultations, and policy translation to strengthen regulatory frameworks and enable cleaner, more efficient industrial practices across key sectors and geographies.

- Conduct primary and secondary research on industrial emissions, air pollution control technologies, cleaner fuels, and energy efficiency interventions across MSMEs and large industries.
- Assist in techno-economic assessments of pollution control and energy efficiency technologies suitable for MSME clusters.
- Analyse relevant environmental regulations, standards, and compliance frameworks related to industrial emissions and air quality.
- Manage and analyse industrial activity, emissions, and energy use datasets (e.g., CEMS, ASI, CPCB portals).
- Support the development and refinement of tools, dashboards, and models to monitor industrial emissions and evaluate mitigation scenarios.
- Conduct assessments using Excel/Python/R-based tools to calculate emission reduction metrics.
- Engage with industry associations, MSME units, technology providers, regulators (e.g., SPCBs, CPCB), and civil society to gather insights and disseminate findings.
- Contribute to the drafting of blogs, policy briefs, issue notes, and regulatory recommendations for state and national authorities.
- Generate high-quality reports, papers, presentations and analyses for internal and external circulation.
- Support the team by periodically travelling within India, particularly for field visits and stakeholder meetings related to pilot studies.

Purpose
We seek to hire a Research Analyst to support our ongoing work on enhancing the access to sustainable cooling to the Indian population, with a primary focus on supporting India’s transition to low-GWP and cleaner refrigerants in accordance with the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol. In addition to the technology transition to phase down high GWP hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), the existing stock of refrigerant gases needs to be effectively managed (through lifecycle refrigerant management practices) to avoid their emissions.
The candidate will be responsible for conducting research on appropriate policy mechanism, technology and capacity building needs, supply chain and market challenges, lifecycle impacts of alternative refrigerants, and business models to inform policy making on refrigerant transition and refrigerant management, and support its effective implementation. He/she would support the team in conducting quantitative and qualitative research, including data analysis, survey design, stakeholder interviews and engagement, creating knowledge products, and outreach. The ideal candidate should possess an educational background in environmental sciences/ engineering in relevant disciplines or public policy, or should have preliminary understanding/ prior work experience in the refrigerants and cooling sector. In addition to the duties and responsibilities outlined here, the individual should be prepared to take on additional responsibilities as necessary.
Job duties and accountabilities
Primary responsibilities - Research and analysis
- Conduct rigorous research to support the development and operationalisation of a lifecycle refrigerant management plan in India.
- Assess and provide inputs for improvement of existing policy mechanisms and regulatory frameworks being used globally for refrigerant management.
- Research and support design of business models and incentive mechanisms to constitute an effective refrigerant recycling/destruction system
- Identify market and supply chain challenges in technology transition, and capacity needs for streamlining refrigerant transition in India.
- Research on lifecycle impact assessment of alternative refrigerants.
- Develop, lead and leverage stakeholder participatory research to engage with the target research subjects to refine project objectives, research scope, and build capacity.
- Support in developing and conduct primary surveys and questionnaires, and to collect, collate and analyse responses using different statistical and econometric approaches.
- Develop research outputs in various forms such as publications, journal papers, reports, op-eds, and articles.
- Conduct data mining, data analysis, and literature review to support the research team.
- Collaborate with the team to identify key research gaps and opportunities for improvement.

- Stay updated on emerging trends and developments in the refrigerants and cooling space.

- Expand channel partner networks across target geographies to scale sales.
- Drive dealer performance through sales targets, incentive structures, and training programs.
- Build strong relationships with channel partners, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to design co-branded campaigns, dealer promotions, and B2C engagement programs.
- Monitor dealer sales performance, stock movement, and customer feedback for continuous improvement.
- Conduct regular market visits to assess dealer activities, resolve issues, and identify growth opportunities.
- Implement structured dealer management systems (CRM/ERP) for performance tracking and reporting.
- Work closely with operations to ensure supply chain efficiency, timely deliveries, and after-sales support.
- Identify new territories, demand clusters, and growth opportunities for B2B2C expansion
Requirements
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field
- 8–10 years of proven experience in B2B2C or channel sales, with a strong track record in dealer/distributor development.
- Experience in agriculture, water solutions, FMCG, durable goods, or similar sectors preferred.
- Strong negotiation, relationship management, and dealer engagement skills.
- Ability to design and execute structured dealer incentive & loyalty programs.
- Analytical mindset with ability to interpret sales data and market insights.
- Willingness to travel extensively across geographies for dealer development.
- Self-driven, entrepreneurial mindset with passion for scaling sustainable solutions.
- Excellent Communications Skills in Marathi, Hindi, English and any other languages
